On May 18, 2022, our Embassy hosted the presentation of the book “Künsztler” by Manos Androulakis.
József Künsztler was born in Budapest in 1897. He played football in III. District Gymnastics and Fencing Association (TVE) in Újpest and after a few years of international detour, he continued his career as a football coach in Greece in the 1930s, where he was the coach of the Panathinaikos football club. Künsztler led the club to the league winning for the first time. He later moved to the island of Cyprus, where he also had a successful coaching career. He passed away in 1977 in Nicosia.
His personality is highly valued by the older generation at the Panathinaikos football club in Greece. With the help of a high-quality book documented with many interesting stories and photos, the younger generation can get to know the life of József Künsztler.
