The images of the devastating Attica forest fire on 11-13 August 2024 shocked the whole world. The heroic struggle of the firefighters and volunteers prevented an even bigger disaster, however, the extent of the destruction is still enormous. Seeing this, at the initiative of the Hungarian embassy in Athens, a collection of donations began with the participation of the embassies of the European Union based in Athens.

European Youth Day On the occasion of Europe Day the Representation of the European Commission in Greece in the context of the European Year of Youth intends to organise a full-day event on 7 and 8 May 2022 in Elefsina and Zappeion. The event on 7 May is focusing on culture and democracy in today’s Europe, while on 8 May on youth and the needs of young people, such as education, job opportunities and entrepreneurship.
